Senior Design Architect – Rail

About the role

Woods Bagot is looking for a senior design‑led rail architect to expand its transport and mobility practice across the Middle East. The role focuses on creating stations as civic destinations and shaping rail, metro, high‑speed rail, TOD, airport and mobility projects. You will contribute to the studio’s design culture while delivering high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop creative, innovative solutions that elevate design quality for medium‑ and large‑scale rail projects.
• Lead project design from concept development through delivery, including client presentations and stakeholder relationships.
• Coordinate and manage project teams within agreed fees, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Mentor team members, promote a continuous design‑review culture and share knowledge.
• Travel to other Woods Bagot studios as required to support global business needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of architectural design experience, with at least 2 years in the Middle East.
• Registered Architect with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (post‑graduate studies preferred).
• Proven experience leading design of rail stations, metro networks, high‑speed rail or major transport interchanges.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage client expectations.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Rhino.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced Adobe Suite skills, particularly InDesign.
