Senior Design Engineer – Formwork

About the role

Azizi Developments is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer – Formwork to lead the design and engineering of safe, efficient and cost‑effective formwork, shoring and scaffolding solutions for its construction projects across the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Develop safe, economical and buildable formwork, shoring and scaffolding solutions and produce GA, assembly, steel fabrication drawings and 2D/3D models.
• Perform, review and verify engineering calculations using structural analysis and temporary works software, ensuring compliance with BS Standards, UAE regulations and project specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams, consultants, suppliers and site personnel, attend technical meetings and conduct site visits to resolve implementation issues.
• Lead, mentor and review the work of junior engineers and designers, ensuring high‑quality documentation and timely delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in formwork design, with strong knowledge of scaffolding and temporary works.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and manage multiple projects.
• Valid UAE driving licence preferred and willingness to travel to sites.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
• Experience with structural analysis/temporary works design software.
• Knowledge of proprietary formwork systems such as PERI and Doka.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office and 2D/3D modelling tools.
