Senior Design Systems Designer

About the role

NEXT Ventures, a global platform for performance-based capital, is hiring a Senior Design Systems Designer. This is a senior individual-contributor role that owns and scales the design system powering its product ecosystem, from components and tokens to documentation, working at the intersection of design and engineering. The role is on-site in Dubai or Kuala Lumpur, with relocation required and visa sponsorship provided.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve the design system end to end: components, patterns, multi-tier design tokens, guidelines and documentation, and audit existing products to set a roadmap for improvement.
• Maintain a design token pipeline (e.g. Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary) and enable theming and dark mode; partner with engineers on design-to-code fidelity, handoffs and reusable libraries (Storybook, Zeroheight).
• Create and maintain design documentation in Markdown, and use AI tools such as Google Stitch, ChatGPT and Claude to speed component creation and documentation.
• Set design system governance, contribution guidelines and accessibility standards aligned with WCAG 2.2, and drive adoption through workshops and enablement sessions.
• Apply the design system to priority product features and mentor junior designers.

Required profile

• 6-10 years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio of design systems built from the ground up.
• Experience in greenfield and brownfield environments, and a self-starter approach to building practices from 0 to 1.
• Willingness to relocate to Dubai or Kuala Lumpur and work on site.

Required skills

• Expert Figma skills: components, variants, auto-layout, variables and design tokens.
• Technical documentation in Markdown, and familiarity with AI tools for design workflows.
• Bonus: front-end skills in HTML, CSS or React, and knowledge of Tailwind, Storybook or Zeroheight.
