Senior EHS Engineer

About the role

The Senior EHS Engineer is responsible for ensuring safe execution of critical construction activities such as transformer installation, cable pulling, and switchyard gantry erection. The role involves detailed hazard analysis, permit management, and enforcement of safety procedures on site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for high‑risk tasks and develop mitigation measures.
• Manage and audit the Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) system, ensuring proper authorisation before work in energized or restricted areas.
• Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify equipment de‑energisation.
• Oversee electrical safety compliance, including PPE inspection, arc‑rated clothing, and insulated gloves.
• Verify correct installation of temporary grounding and earthing systems.
• Monitor excavation and trenching activities for safe shoring, utility detection, and work practices.
• Deliver site‑specific safety inductions, daily toolbox talks, and conduct incident/near‑miss investigations using Root Cause Analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in EHS roles within construction or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, PTW, LOTO, and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to lead safety trainings and communicate effectively with diverse site personnel.
