Senior Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) – Dredger

About the role

The Senior Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all electrical, electronic and automation systems on board a dredger. This role ensures the reliability of critical dredging equipment and supports safe, efficient offshore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic and automation systems onboard.
• Ensure continuous availability of cutter heads, dredge pumps, winches and propulsion control systems.
• Manage high‑voltage systems, PLCs, SCADA and power distribution networks in line with safety and class requirements.
• Supervise junior electrical staff and implement planned maintenance systems (PMS).
• Perform advanced fault diagnosis and rectification of complex electrical and control systems to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate with the Chief Engineer and Master to support dredging operations and project timelines.
• Maintain records of electrical maintenance, spares inventory and system performance logs.
• Support dry‑dock activities, including planning, inspection, upgrades and commissioning of electrical systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics.
• STCW certification and valid ETO licence.
• 5‑10 years of experience on dredgers (CSD or TSHD).
