Senior Engineer – Aircraft Mass & Balance

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Mass & Balance will manage aircraft mass properties and balance activities throughout the aerial vehicle development lifecycle, supporting mass estimation, weight control, centre of gravity, inertia, aircraft weighing, verification and technical reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain aircraft mass breakdown structures and weight statements.
• Perform mass, centre of gravity, inertia and loading calculations.
• Establish mass targets, allocations, margins and growth allowances.
• Monitor and manage aircraft mass growth and configuration changes.
• Support aircraft weighing and mass‑property verification activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Structural, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically 10+ years of aerospace engineering experience with a strong focus on aircraft mass properties.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• CAD and BOM data handling.
• MATLAB, PLM or dedicated mass‑properties software.
• Spreadsheets and engineering analysis tools.
• Mass breakdown, weight statements, centre of gravity and inertia calculations.
