Senior Engineer - Antenna & EM

About the role

EDGE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer - Antenna and Communications for its Halcon business unit, based in Abu Dhabi. The engineer leads the design, development, simulation, testing and validation of advanced antenna and communication systems for missile and defence applications. The role covers RF system engineering, electromagnetic analysis, communication link evaluation, software-defined radio development and antenna performance optimisation, and involves mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate, test and optimise antenna systems and RF communication subsystems for defence and missile applications.
• Perform electromagnetic modelling, RF propagation analysis, link budget calculations, channel characterisation and interference assessment.
• Develop and validate Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions, including signal processing, modulation and coding techniques and performance analysis.
• Lead technical reviews, qualification testing and cross-functional integration activities, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in RF engineering, antenna design and wireless communication systems.
• Strong expertise in antenna theory, electromagnetics, RF propagation, interference analysis and communication system design.
• Preferred: experience in the defence, aerospace, missile, radar or military communications industry, and prior technical leadership experience.
• English proficiency is required.
