Senior Engineer – Firmware

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Firmware to lead the design, development, integration, verification, and testing of advanced firmware solutions for mission‑critical defence systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and verify firmware for FPGA and microcontroller‑based embedded systems.
• Provide technical leadership on firmware architecture, coding standards, verification methods and certification requirements.
• Lead design reviews, produce firmware specifications and interface control documents, and ensure best‑practice engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools and technology road‑maps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Software, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in FPGA and/or microcontroller firmware development.
• Strong background in firmware design, coding, verification, validation, testing and hardware integration.
• Deep understanding of systems engineering processes, including requirements management, integration, verification, certification and configuration management.
