Senior Engineer, Operations

About the role

ADNOC Onshore is hiring a Senior Engineer, Operations for an external contract based in Abu Dhabi. The role plans, coordinates and supervises safe and efficient oil and gas production, processing and export operations, including water injection, gas injection, gas lift, ESP wells and CO2 injection and distribution. It also maintains facility and system integrity and reliability while complying with the HSE management system, and troubleshoots abnormalities and recommends corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Review operating data against production targets and design operating envelopes, using laboratory analysis and plant performance data.
• Work with stakeholders on alarm rationalization and alarm management, and run Field Technical Rate (FTR) and Field Capacity Test (FCT) exercises to find bottlenecks.
• Coordinate production and injection adjustments to meet oil, gas, water and CO2 injection KPIs, and keep production, injection and export data accurate in the PIES system.
• Follow up with development and planning teams on FSOPR, Reservoir Monitoring Program (RMP) and WAG changeover, and coordinate 5-year shutdown plans, optimization and resource management.
• Troubleshoot chronic surface facility problems and take part in root cause analysis of repeated equipment failures.
• Monitor equipment, prepare trend reports, advise operators on corrective actions and review operating procedures and standing instructions.
• Engage with the Technical Center and Project and Construction teams on design review, value engineering, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and RFC walkdowns, and represent Operations in new technology trials and change management (MOC).
• Support the Tactical Response Team and Incident Management Team during emergencies, and participate in risk assessments, site supervision of critical work activities and the ERM risk register.
• Ensure surface and subsurface facility integrity, including communication tests, Below Cellar Inspection and Sustained Annulus Pressure investigations.
