Senior Engineer – Projects (Projects Department)

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Projects will supervise, study and provide technical support across the full project lifecycle, from concept through hand‑over. The role ensures that projects meet safety, quality, schedule, cost and Value Assurance Process (VAP) requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contractor selection, pre‑qualification, bid evaluation and site logistics management.
• Develop detailed Statements of Requirements (SOR) and implementation strategies for FEED, detailed engineering, construction and commissioning phases.
• Assist in preparing tender documents for Engineering Consultants, PMC and Contractors.
• Review contractor subcontracting strategies, ensuring compliance with scope, specifications and procedures.
• Coordinate pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Manage documentation review, consolidation of comments and ensure proper submission formats.
• Recommend purchase requisitions for material and equipment to EPC/Construction contractors.
• Supervise specialist teams during engineering and construction to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Monitor progress of licensors, engineering and EPC contractors, identify bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
• Conduct value engineering, constructability reviews and workshops to enhance cost‑effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project engineering within large‑scale industrial or oil & gas environments.
• Strong ability to supervise multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project schedules.
• Excellent analytical skills for reviewing strategies, specifications and construction methods.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with contractors, operations, and maintenance departments.
