Senior Engineer - Rocket Propulsion

About the role

The Senior Propulsion Engineer will lead the development, design, manufacturing, and testing of rocket propulsion subsystems, combining technical leadership with project management responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test rocket propulsion systems, applying thermodynamic, fluid‑dynamic and structural principles from concept through performance validation.
• Lead system‑level propulsion projects, managing technical interfaces, design reviews and verification activities to meet schedule and budget.
• Define system requirements, maintain baseline documentation and ensure configuration control throughout the programme lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers, review technical outputs and support knowledge transfer to build internal capability.
• Support additive manufacturing, laser welding, milling and heat‑treatment processes, collaborating with manufacturing teams to resolve non‑conformances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in rocket propulsion development, including solid rocket motor data packs and missile applications.
• Strong planning, problem‑solving and analytical skills with broad mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Excellent technical communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Solid rocket motor design and development.
• Additive manufacturing processes (laser welding, milling, heat treatment).
• PLM software implementation and configuration management.
• Systems engineering processes and documentation (drawings, specifications, test reports, ICDs).
