Senior Engineer – Telemetry

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Radio Frequency and Telemetry to design, develop, test, integrate, and qualify advanced RF and airborne telemetry systems for defence and aerospace platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and evaluate RF, microwave, electromagnetic and telemetry subsystems for missile, UAV and aerospace applications.
• Perform RF simulations, link‑budget analysis, measurements and communication performance assessments.
• Develop airborne telemetry hardware including RF transmitters, SDR architectures, power amplifiers, filters and data acquisition electronics.
• Define telemetry architectures, data packaging, frame structures, synchronization and bandwidth allocation.
• Integrate telemetry with onboard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, RS‑422/485 and avionics networks.
• Lead laboratory, ground, factory acceptance and flight‑test activities, including troubleshooting and post‑flight data analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications or RF/Microwave Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in RF engineering, telemetry systems or aerospace electronics.
• Strong background in RF system design, antenna, propagation, microwave networks and link‑budget analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with IRIG‑106 telemetry standards and PCM telemetry architectures.

Required skills

• RF simulation tools: MATLAB, Simulink, CST Studio Suite, HFSS, ADS, Microwave Office.
• RF test equipment: Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator.
• Software Defined Radio (SDR) development, digital modulation (PSK, QPSK, FSK) and waveform implementation.
• Telemetry integration, ground‑station data decoding, real‑time monitoring.
• PCB design using Altium Designer or equivalent.
