Senior Engineer – Water (Hydrology & Stormwater)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Water (Hydrology & Stormwater) to join WSP’s Transport & Infrastructure business in the UAE. The role will lead the design and delivery of hydrology, stormwater management and drainage solutions for major infrastructure and land‑development projects across the Emirates. You will work closely with senior technical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological assessments, drainage studies, flood‑risk analyses and stormwater management designs for infrastructure and land‑development projects.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrological modelling using tools such as InfoWorks ICM, HEC‑RAS, Flood Modeller and StormCAD.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, design drawings and modelling outputs that comply with local authority requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, support project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget, and assist with authority submissions.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct quality checks and stay updated on evolving hydrology practices and sustainability requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in hydrology, stormwater management and drainage design, preferably on UAE infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients and authorities.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
