Senior Environmental Specialist

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead environmental strategy for high‑profile infrastructure and master‑plan projects in Dubai. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance, sustainability and the protection of sensitive habitats throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Guide complex projects from concept to completion, ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability objectives are met.
• Interpret EIA/ESIA studies, identify constraints and advise design teams on early‑stage mitigation measures.
• Provide expert advice on protected areas and habitat‑mapping limitations for master‑plan designs.
• Develop tailored environmental strategies and sustainability certification documentation for each project.
• Prepare RFPs, select and manage environmental sub‑consultants, and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental engineering, planning or a related natural science discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience delivering EIAs/ESIAs within an international engineering or consultancy environment.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
• Proven ability to coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) methodology.
• Habitat mapping and protected‑area analysis.
• Sustainability certification processes.
• Project planning and environmental strategy development.
• Preparation and evaluation of RFPs and sub‑consultant performance.
