Senior External Auditor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior External Auditor to lead and execute external audit engagements covering financial statements, accounting processes, internal controls, disclosures, and related financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge with professional skepticism, analytical capabilities, sound judgment, and effective stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute external audit engagements in accordance with applicable auditing standards and firm methodology.
• Develop audit timelines, testing plans, budgets and allocate resources effectively.
• Perform substantive audit procedures, control testing, analytical procedures and transaction‑level testing across major account balances.
• Identify and evaluate significant financial statement risks, material misstatements, fraud risks and accounting judgments.
• Supervise and review the work of junior team members, providing technical guidance and ensuring high‑quality working papers.
• Communicate audit findings to client management, discuss proposed adjustments and track uncorrected misstatements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in external audit, financial statement audit, assurance, statutory audit or public accounting, preferably within a professional‑services firm, multinational organization or listed company.
• Proven ability to plan, lead and deliver audit engagements, assess risks of material misstatement and evaluate internal controls.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of discussing findings with client management and senior audit leadership.
• Professional skepticism, analytical mindset and sound judgment in evaluating complex accounting estimates and disclosures.
