Senior Flavorist – Innovative Food & Beverage Flavors

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Flavorist to join IFF’s Creative & Design team in Dubai. The role focuses on creating consumer‑preferred flavors for food and beverage categories such as dairy, sweets, and beverages, blending scientific expertise with creative innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and formulate market‑leading flavors for applications including compounded liquids, spray‑dried powders, emulsions and extracts using GRAS and FDA‑approved materials.
• Lead projects from concept through launch, ensuring timelines, specifications and quality standards are met.
• Apply analytical data, sensory science and technical knowledge to develop, characterize and match flavor materials.
• Ensure all formulations comply with U.S. and international flavor regulations, including requirements for alcoholic beverages.
• Collaborate with Applications, R&D, Marketing, Sales and Operations to support seamless project execution and scale‑up.
• Mentor junior colleagues and share technical expertise across global innovation teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of hands‑on flavor creation experience across sweet, dairy and beverage categories.
• Certified flavor chemist credentials (e.g., Society of Flavor Chemists).
• Proven ability to manage multiple development projects while maintaining quality and timelines.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external customers.
