Senior Geologist – Operations

About the role

The Senior Geologist – Operations will provide geological support for the Biogenic‑Shallow Gas Project, covering exploration, appraisal and development drilling activities. The role ensures integration of subsurface data, well‑log interpretation and real‑time drilling decisions to meet well objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare pre‑drill documentation, attend pre‑spud meetings and supervise service‑contractor tools to optimise cost and performance.
• Provide technical oversight for mudlogging, LWD/MWD, wireline logging, coring, directional drilling and stimulation operations.
• Interpret drilling reports, assess geological hazards and define geological markers for well programmes.
• Monitor real‑time drilling data, advise on pore‑pressure, fracture‑gradient and wellbore stability, and coordinate with geomechanics, reservoir and drilling engineers.
• Oversee sample collection, cuttings analysis, petrophysical evaluation and geochemical data acquisition in close collaboration with project geologists and engineers.
• Produce correlation panels, cross‑sections and daily/weekly geological operation reports.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in geological operations for drilling projects, preferably in shallow gas or unconventional reservoirs.
• Proven ability to work 24/7 in a high‑pressure drilling environment and to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
