Senior Governance, Risk & Compliance Specialist – Dubai

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Governance, Risk & Compliance Specialist in Dubai. The role ensures the company adheres to regulatory standards, mitigates risks, and maintains a robust governance framework within the dynamic UAE insurance industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the corporate governance framework and policies across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with UAE insurance laws, healthcare regulations, AML requirements and standards set by CBUAE, SCA, DoH and DHA.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align governance structures with strategic objectives and report effectiveness to senior management and the Board.
• Oversee governance and compliance functions for branches and subsidiaries outside the UAE, ensuring alignment with local regulations.
• Establish compliance monitoring, corrective action plans and deliver training and awareness programs to employees.
• Act as primary point of contact for regulatory audits, inspections and inquiries, building strong relationships with regulators and industry bodies.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in governance and compliance within the UAE insurance sector.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE insurance and healthcare regulations, AML requirements and risk‑management best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk or a related field; master’s degree or professional certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience liaising with regulators such as CBUAE, SCA, DoH and DHA.
• Experience managing GRC functions for international branches and subsidiaries.
