Senior Hardware Engineer (E&E)

About the role

ADVANCED CONCEPTS, a division of EDGE Group, is developing cutting‑edge autonomous and missile systems. The Senior Hardware Engineer will lead the design of high‑performance, military‑grade printed circuit boards and embedded hardware for these programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop schematics, component libraries and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, including advanced techniques such as blind‑buried vias, via‑in‑pad and BGA placement.
• Design electronic safety and arming devices in compliance with MIL‑STD‑1316 and other military standards.
• Create multilayer PCB layouts for harsh environments, managing analog/digital segregation, low EMI, grounding, shielding and thermal management.
• Generate complete data packages (BOM, Gerber files, assembly drawings) and ensure documentation meets IPC and defense specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training on debugging tools, soft‑logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in PCB design for defense applications, including VHDL coding.
• Proven track record of delivering hardware that meets military standards and troubleshooting prototype boards.
• Experience with power‑supply topologies (buck, boost, fly‑back, inverters, DC‑DC) and high‑speed data handling.

• Altium Designer (schematic capture, layout, SPICE analysis)
• FPGA, MCU and DDR memory integration
• Advanced multilayer PCB layout techniques (blind/buried vias, via‑in‑pad, BGA)
• Analog and digital domain segregation for signal integrity
• Low‑EMI/EMC design, grounding, shielding and filtering
• Generation of BOMs, Gerber files and assembly drawings per IPC standards
• VHDL coding and hardware debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Power‑supply design (buck, boost, fly‑back, inverter, DC‑DC converters)
