Senior HVAC + MEP Designer

About the role

Senior HVAC + MEP Designer responsible for designing, coordinating and preparing engineering drawings for mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems on infrastructure, oil & gas and facility projects in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC, ventilation, air‑conditioning and ductwork layouts, including equipment placement for AHUs, fan coils, blowers and chillers.
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, air‑flow diagrams and P&IDs using AutoCAD, Revit MEP and MicroStation.
• Generate HVAC material take‑offs (MTO) and bill of quantities (BOQ) and support equipment modelling from vendor data.
• Coordinate MEP systems with architectural, structural, process and utility disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Perform load calculations, duct sizing and equipment selection to meet performance and code requirements.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of HVAC/MEP design experience, with at least 5 years in the oil & gas sector.
• Bachelor’s (or Diploma) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Experience on medium to large‑scale projects in the Middle East, preferably involving greenfield/brownfield, FEED and detailed engineering.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, MicroStation, BIM 360/ACC.
• Hands‑on modelling with E3D, PDMS and S3D (advantageous).
• Ability to create air‑flow diagrams, P&IDs and generate HVAC MTOs.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, NBC, IS, IEC and local UAE regulations.
• Strong MS Office skills for documentation and coordination.
