Senior Immigration Specialist

About the role

This role will manage the relocation, immigration operations, and mobility needs of Deel’s global workforce. You will work closely with HR, legal, and tax teams to ensure seamless support for employees on international assignments while staying compliant with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage immigration cases from start to finish, handling complex cases in‑house or through third‑party providers.
• Ensure cases are accurately updated in the case management system and meet SLAs/KPIs.
• Act as point of contact for low to medium level issues and escalations within the immigration team.
• Conduct regular case reviews for junior team members and provide feedback.
• Provide expert advice on immigration laws across EMEA countries and ensure client compliance.
• Consult clients via email or call, outlining applicable immigration and work‑authorisation routes.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in immigration law and proactively communicate risks.
• Assess right‑to‑work requirements for Employee of Records (EORs) and other permits.
• Liaise with internal teams to gather corporate documents and ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain accurate immigration documentation, track renewals, and support internal knowledge‑base audits.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in global mobility, especially UAE immigration processes.
• Fluent in English with strong knowledge of global relocation, immigration, and tax compliance.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams (HR, Legal, Tax, Finance).
• Hands‑on experience with work and residence permits, notifications, cancellations, and renewals.
• Familiarity with global mobility tools and vendor management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and project‑management skills.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple complex cases concurrently.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., GMS) are a plus.
