Senior Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer

About the role

Daikin Middle East & Africa is seeking a Senior Industrial Refrigeration Design Engineer to lead the design of ammonia‑based refrigeration systems for large‑scale industrial projects. The role involves conceptualising, developing and optimising plant layouts while ensuring safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial refrigeration systems, focusing on ammonia (NH3) cycles, including thermal load calculations, system sizing and component selection.
• Create and review P&IDs, flow diagrams, layout drawings and detailed technical drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Revit.
• Perform performance analysis, optimise system efficiency and ensure compliance with ASHRAE, GCC and local codes.
• Coordinate with project managers, electrical engineers and site installation teams, providing technical support during execution, troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Support cost estimation, material selection and vendor coordination for compressors, condensers, vessels, PHEs and related equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience designing industrial refrigeration systems, with a strong focus on ammonia applications.
• In‑depth knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and refrigeration cycles.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
