Senior Instrumentation Engineer – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer for a six‑month contract to lead instrumentation design and engineering activities on oil‑and‑gas projects in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure that all deliverables meet international, organisational and client standards while supporting project decisions within the instrumentation discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and approve design and detailed engineering documents, specifications, calculations and contract documents.
• Develop equipment and material specifications, instrument indexes, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, cable routing, control‑room layouts and related documentation.
• Coordinate material requisitions, vendor drawing reviews and technical queries to secure timely delivery of instrumentation and bulk materials.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews and issue engineering drawings for inter‑discipline checks.
• Participate in HAZOP, SIL and alarm‑management studies and liaise with client and vendor representatives.
• Define control‑system architecture, prepare PLC/DCS specifications and support FAT, IFAT and SAT activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in designing and documenting electrical/electronic equipment.
• Extensive experience in the oil‑and‑gas industry, preferably within EPC or engineering consultancy environments on on‑shore projects.
