Senior Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to lead the I&C discipline for oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced control and instrumentation systems for large‑scale, complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop discipline work plans and supervise I&C engineers, designers, and technical staff.
• Provide technical expertise for specification, design, and selection of instruments, controllers, and control systems.
• Manage all aspects of instrumentation and control engineering, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Control design changes within project budget and schedule constraints.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery.
• Oversee preparation of design deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements and client approvals.
• Represent Worley’s I&C competency at internal and external forums.
• Design on‑shore control rooms, instrumentation equipment rooms (IES), and associated systems such as ICSS, fire‑and‑gas (F&G), and emergency shutdown (ESD).
• Produce detailed design packages for I&C equipment, automation systems, package items, bulk items, and cabling.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in instrumentation and control engineering for oil & gas projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of control and safety systems and proven leadership abilities.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project deliverables.
• Experience in on‑shore design of control rooms and instrumentation equipment rooms.
