Senior Legal Counsel – Banking (Emiratization)

About the role

Our client, a leading UAE bank, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel with a strong corporate background to provide end‑to‑end legal support for banking and financial services activities. The role offers the chance to work closely with business units, regulators and senior management on a variety of commercial and transactional matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, facility agreements, security documents and banking product agreements.
• Provide legal advice on corporate transactions, financing arrangements and regulatory exposure.
• Liaise with regulators, external counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risk.
• Develop and maintain internal legal policies, templates and processes.
• Deliver practical, business‑focused guidance to senior management and support governance initiatives.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate/commercial law.
• Qualified lawyer, fluent in English and Arabic.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Open to candidates from any industry; banking experience is a plus.
• Participation in the Emiratization programme.
