Senior Light Ends Trader

About the role

We are seeking a high‑performing Senior Light Ends Trader to generate and manage P&L across global oil derivatives markets. The successful candidate will leverage deep market knowledge, disciplined risk management and the ability to independently identify and execute profitable trading opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and manage trading P&L within established risk parameters.
• Maintain trading books within approved limits, overseeing VaR, position limits, liquidity and overall portfolio risk.
• Monitor daily P&L and risk exposures to ensure alignment with the firm’s risk appetite.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of global oil markets, including refinery economics, inventories, supply/demand, freight flows and geopolitics.
• Develop and act on differentiated market views, translating them into actionable positions.
• Focus on risk‑adjusted returns, capital efficiency and downside protection.
• Contribute market intelligence and trading ideas to the broader organization.

Required profile

• 7+ years of oil derivatives trading experience, preferably in a trading house or hedge fund.
• Proven track record of profitable P&L generation in crude oil, distillates or light ends.
• Strong commercial judgment, market awareness and ability to perform under pressure.
• Expertise in options, volatility and derivatives trading.
• Deep understanding of oil market fundamentals and physical dynamics.
• Quantitative and analytical capabilities with solid risk, position sizing and portfolio construction knowledge.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently and own a trading book.
