Senior Logistics Officer

About the role

The Senior Logistics Officer will coordinate and monitor import and export shipments, ensuring timely and cost‑effective movement of goods while complying with customs, permits and documentation requirements. The role works closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs teams, finance and internal departments to keep logistics operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipment schedules with suppliers, customers and freight forwarders.
• Monitor shipments and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Handle customs clearance, permits, NOCs and prepare shipping documentation.
• Negotiate freight rates, manage demurrage and storage costs.
• Arrange third‑party transportation and support export freight quotations.
• Collaborate with Finance on shipment‑related payments and maintain accurate shipment records.
• Support logistics budget preparation and ensure on‑time, cost‑effective delivery of outbound shipments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of logistics or supply‑chain experience, including import/export and customs clearance.
• Hands‑on experience coordinating with freight forwarders, shipping agents and transporters.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Preferred: Master’s/MBA in Supply Chain, prior senior logistics role, Arabic language skills.
