Senior MAC I&C Engineer

About the role

Worley is a global energy, chemicals and resources consultancy delivering projects across the lifecycle of assets. The Senior MAC I&C Engineer will lead the engineering, design, review and technical assurance of Measurement, Automation & Control and Instrumentation & Control systems for on‑shore and off‑shore oil & gas facilities in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design of instrumentation, control, automation and measurement systems from concept through EPC, commissioning and start‑up.
• Develop and review datasheets, specifications, P&IDs, instrument indexes, I/O lists, control narratives, cause‑and‑effect charts and loop diagrams.
• Design and integrate DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS/ESD, fire‑and‑gas and package control systems.
• Engineer fiscal metering, custody transfer, flow measurement, tank gauging and analyzer systems.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities with process, mechanical, electrical, civil, piping and telecommunications disciplines.
• Support HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, FAT, SAT and integrated system testing, and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 15 years of relevant oil & gas or petrochemical experience, including 5 years in the GCC.
• Minimum three years in a senior I&C role on international major projects, with FEED and EPC experience and prior offshore work.
• Proven experience with ADNOC projects and compliance with ADNOC, IEC, ISA, API, IEEE, ISO and NFPA standards.

Required skills

• Instrumentation design and specification, process control systems, DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS/ESD, fire‑and‑gas detection.
• Fiscal metering, custody transfer, flow computers, tank gauging, process analyzers.
• Hazardous area classification, industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, HART, Ethernet/IP).
• Software: SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI/INtools), AVEVA Engineering, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite.
