Senior Manager - Business Banking Risk and Control

About the role

Join the Retail Banking Group at ADCB as a Senior Manager overseeing Business Banking risk and control. You will shape the governance framework, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable portfolio growth across the bank’s Business Banking division.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the risk and control framework to cover operational, regulatory, conduct, financial crime and portfolio risks.
• Provide leadership for risk governance, challenge control weaknesses and support remediation.
• Oversee first‑line risk governance across products, channels and processes, ensuring policies are consistently applied.
• Monitor portfolio quality, emerging risks and control performance, delivering recommendations to senior management.
• Review and improve preventive, detective and corrective controls, and manage control testing programmes.
• Lead regulatory, compliance and financial‑crime risk activities, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Conduct Risk and Control Self‑Assessment, maintain risk inventories and key risk indicators.
• Report risk exposures, portfolio quality indicators and governance outcomes to management.
• Support budget preparation and monitor financial performance against targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Risk Management, Operational Risk, Audit or Compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Business Banking products and portfolio management.
• Experience with risk and control frameworks and operational risk management.
• Proficiency in regulatory compliance and financial‑crime risk management.
• Understanding of credit risk, portfolio analytics and risk reporting systems.
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and lead teams.
