Senior Manager Economic Models

About the role

The Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the development and application of economic models that support policy and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct macro‑ and project‑level economic analyses to guide public policy and decisions.
• Build and run economic and financial market models for forecasting, impact assessment, and cost estimation.
• Introduce cutting‑edge econometric, machine‑learning and AI approaches to modelling and forecasting.
• Prepare reports, policy briefs and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.
• Monitor local, regional and global economic developments and provide concise summaries for decision makers.
• Provide technical economic advice to staff across the department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Data Science or a related field.
• Relevant experience in ministries of finance, central banks, international organisations (IMF, World Bank), economic consultancy or private‑sector banking focused on economic modelling.
• Proven track record of applying economic models to public‑sector decision‑making.

Required skills

• Economic modelling techniques such as econometrics, input‑output, general equilibrium and flow‑of‑funds models.
• Proficiency in Python and advanced Excel.
• Experience with R and Stata.
• Knowledge of machine‑learning methods applied to economic forecasting.
