Senior Material Engineer

About the role

We are Azizi, a leading Dubai‑based developer dedicated to creating high‑quality homes across the UAE. We are seeking an experienced Senior Material Engineer to join our Fit‑Out Factory team in Dubai South. The role requires strong knowledge of fit‑out materials, technical submittals, material approvals and manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit material submittals for consultant/client approval, ensuring compliance with specifications, IFC drawings and authority requirements.
• Evaluate interior finishes such as wood, laminate, veneer, paint, stone, glass, flooring, ceilings and wall systems, and coordinate with design teams on alternative materials for value engineering.
• Coordinate with Procurement to source approved materials, manage budgets and lead times, and align material requirements with factory production schedules.
• Inspect delivered materials against approved samples, work with QA/QC and site teams to ensure compliance, and raise NCRs for any deviations.
• Maintain material submittal logs, approvals and databases, support O&M manuals and as‑built documentation, and liaise with Design, BIM, Procurement, QA/QC and site teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Materials Engineering, Interior Design or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in material specification, evaluation and submittal management.
• Fit‑out experience preferred; manufacturing/factory experience also preferred.
• Training in material specification, value engineering and submittal management is an advantage.
• Awareness of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Strong knowledge of interior finishes, joinery materials and fit‑out systems.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
