Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer to provide technical leadership for materials and corrosion engineering design during FEED and detailed engineering phases of offshore oil & gas projects. The role will ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective solutions while integrating with process, piping and mechanical disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare material selection reports, diagrams, corrosion control manuals and material adequacy checks.
• Develop and review material selection philosophies, corrosion monitoring and chemical injection specifications.
• Perform corrosion‑rate modelling using ECE 5.8 and apply industry standards such as NACE MR0175/ISO 15156.
• Provide materials and corrosion input to static and rotating equipment datasheets, piping specifications, MTOs and P&IDs.
• Prepare engineering design calculations, material take‑offs and cathodic protection scopes of work.
• Participate in offshore and onshore site visits for data collection, field verification and condition assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers, drive quality and schedule adherence, and ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Pre‑FEED and Detailed Engineering Design for offshore oil & gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of material selection, degradation mechanisms and corrosion control strategies.
• Ability to manage complex, multi‑discipline projects and lead technical teams.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
