Senior Mechanical Construction Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Construction Engineer to lead mechanical works on an offshore PMC project based in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing the installation, commissioning and hand‑over of complex offshore mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards and schedule commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all mechanical construction activities offshore, including piping, static and rotating equipment installation.
• Ensure installations follow design drawings, ASME, API and ISO standards.
• Conduct inspections, mechanical completion checks and maintain quality documentation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during startup and support smooth hand‑over to operations.
• Plan, schedule and monitor construction progress to meet project milestones.
• Provide technical support for offshore wellhead towers, subsea pipelines and cable routing.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, instrumentation and marine teams to align construction activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 3‑5 years in senior roles on major offshore oil & gas projects.
• Previous experience with PMC/EPC environments; ADNOC offshore experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of offshore construction methods, mechanical systems and safety standards.
• Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and extended rotations.
