Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead detailed mechanical design for high‑rise and hospitality projects within our Dubai Design Division. The role involves delivering sustainable solutions, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design drawings for HVAC, public health, fire protection, BMS, irrigation, swimming pool and gas systems.
• Develop technical specifications, schedules and design development reports.
• Interpret contract scope and project deliverables.
• Coordinate work with other project team members.
• Monitor and guide the performance of junior engineers as required.
• Ensure projects are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Keep senior design team informed of key decisions and objectives.
• Meet all statutory and regulatory requirements in designs.
• Support submittals and No‑Objection Certificate (NOC) processes with relevant authorities.
• Participate in team and project meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering consultancy in the UAE, preferably Dubai.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from concept through detailed design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Membership of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Arabic and English.
