Senior Mechanical Engineer – Operations Readiness & Assurance

About the role

Penspen is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead Operations Readiness & Assurance (OR&A) activities for a major oil & gas PMC project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures mechanical assets are safe, reliable, and ready for optimal operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead OR&A activities for mechanical systems across all project phases.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, datasheets, and specifications.
• Implement mechanical integrity and reliability strategies (RBI, PM, CBM).
• Develop and support maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, and other safety/technical reviews.
• Coordinate handover with Engineering, Commissioning, and Operations teams.
• Verify documentation, training, spares, and maintenance plans before start‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• 15+ years of oil & gas experience in a similar role.
• 5+ years on large‑scale EPC projects in the Middle East, preferably ADNOC.
• Proven experience in Operations Readiness, Commissioning, or Start‑Up.
• Strong background with rotating and static equipment.
• Familiarity with ADNOC Engineering Standards and international codes (API, ASME, ISO).
• Experience in asset integrity, reliability, and maintenance strategy development.
