Senior Mechanical Engineer – Site Lead

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. In this critical on‑site role you will lead mechanical engineering projects, oversee installations and ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical design, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, calculations and related submittals for industrial and commercial projects.
• Conduct on‑site inspections and supervise installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project goals on time and within budget.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and inspectors, fostering their professional development.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes and authorities’ regulations.
• Implement sustainable engineering practices in project designs.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, contractors and suppliers to maintain project timelines.
• Continuously improve processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Over 12 years of experience, including engineering consultancy and familiarity with UAE local building codes.
• Proven track record in on‑site supervision, project coordination and management of mechanical works across diverse construction projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping and industrial equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and leadership abilities.
• Commitment to sustainable and energy‑efficient designs.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and willingness to travel to various UAE sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software.
• Advanced knowledge of heat‑load and sizing calculations.
• Strong expertise in HVAC systems, piping and industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
