Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static) – Greenfield Projects

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static) will lead the engineering, design review and technical management of static equipment for offshore oil and gas greenfield projects, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for static equipment on offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Prepare and review design basis, specifications, datasheets and technical requisitions.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables for pressure vessels, separators, heat exchangers, columns, towers, filters, pig launchers, storage tanks and fired heaters.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, operability, maintainability and safety standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, support procurement, and manage technical bid evaluations.
• Interface with process, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, corrosion and HSE disciplines and participate in HAZOP, design and constructability reviews.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in oil & gas, with at least 8 years on offshore greenfield projects.
• Proven experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases for ADNOC Offshore or similar major EPC projects.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree is an advantage.

Required skills

• Design and analysis of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, towers and storage tanks.
• Knowledge of codes and standards: ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, API 510, 650, 660, 661, 620, TEMA, NACE and ADNOC engineering standards.
• Software proficiency: PV Elite, Compress, HTRI, Aspen EDR, MS Office Suite and SmartPlant Systems.
