Senior Occupational Health Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Occupational Health Engineer to lead HSE performance monitoring and ensure safe operations across our drilling assets in Abu Dhabi. The role serves as the focal point for HSE management system implementation, providing support, guidance and training to plant personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor HSE inspections and ensure products, services and equipment meet HSE standards.
• Review reports from technical, project and quality functions to provide timely HSE support.
• Participate in complex, high‑impact inspections for equipment installation, asset start‑up, loading, off‑loading and shutdown activities.
• Act as first point of contact for safety, health and environment matters, facilitating communication with plant staff.
• Update purchasing standards to align equipment and material with safety codes and latest technology.
• Identify hazardous activities, recommend risk mitigation measures and oversee proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Monitor and maintain safety tools and personal protective equipment, and support preventive maintenance programmes.
• Develop and maintain safety manuals, hazardous area instructions, safety publications and signage.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineering experience in occupational health, safety or HSE environments.
• Proven ability to lead HSE inspections and drive compliance across large industrial operations.
• Strong understanding of safety codes, purchasing standards and preventive maintenance concepts.
• Excellent communication skills to train and advise plant personnel.
