Senior Officer - Sharia Assessment and Testing

About the role

The Senior Officer – Sharia Assessment and Testing supports ADIB’s leadership in ensuring Sharia compliance across the bank’s operations. The role focuses on monitoring, testing, and reporting to align with the Higher Sharia Authority, Central Bank of UAE, and internal Sharia supervisory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the annual Sharia Assessment and Testing plan using a risk‑based methodology and the GRC platform.
• Assist the Head of the unit in managing the SAT team and supervising daily functions.
• Conduct comprehensive Sharia monitoring and assurance reviews across business units and evaluate transactions for compliance with HSA standards and CBUAE regulations.
• Prepare detailed review reports and communicate findings to senior leadership.
• Monitor implementation of action plans and continuously enhance compliance controls.
• Assess Sharia Non‑Compliance risks, coordinate with business units and operational risk teams, and develop effective mitigation measures.
• Provide support to other Sharia Development (SCD) functions as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sharia/Islamic banking or a related field.
• Strong academic background or professional experience in Sharia compliance.
• AAOIFI CSAA and/or CIPA certifications (or equivalent).
