Senior Pipeline Commissioning Engineer

About the role

The Senior Pipeline Commissioning Engineer will guide EPC contractors through completion milestones, from construction hand‑over to pre‑commissioning, commissioning and successful start‑up of on‑shore facilities. The role ensures compliance with ADNOC standards and supports the Onshore Completion Lead in delivering a safe, on‑time handover to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance to EPC contractors and subcontractors on completion deliverables and implementation.
• Monitor mechanical completion (MC) and pre‑commissioning activities, ensuring readiness for MC and RFSU certification.
• Support systemisation activities, including definition of systems and subsystems and verification of mechanical completion certificates.
• Track and report progress using the Completion Management System, manage punch items and ensure their closure before handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics) or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in completion/turnover within commissioning or operation readiness, with at least 5 years in senior commissioning roles on oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
• Experience on large MEGA EPC projects, preferably in the GCC region.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Completion Management System and related reporting tools.
• Strong ability to populate and validate large databases of completion data.
• Knowledge of systemisation, P&IDs, and completion processes.
• Familiarity with international standards such as API, ASME and IEC.
• Experience with mechanical completion certification, pre‑commissioning and start‑up procedures.
