Senior Principal HSE Engineer – Technical Safety & Loss Prevention

About the role

The Senior Principal HSE Engineer (Technical Safety & Loss Prevention) will lead complex offshore EPC projects, ensuring safety and loss‑prevention solutions are innovative, reliable and cost‑effective. This senior specialist role influences project direction, resource allocation and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large‑scale offshore process‑intensive EPC projects and ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery.
• Develop and approve HSE and fire‑protection design philosophies, safety study scopes, equipment specifications and fire‑water hydraulic calculations (using PIPENET or equivalent).
• Provide inputs to P&ID mark‑ups for fire‑water ring‑main and deluge systems, including hose reels, hydrants and nozzles.
• Coordinate and facilitate safety workshops such as HAZID and HAZOP.
• Review and approve third‑party safety study reports, vendor data, technical notes and safety‑sign layouts.
• Prepare and sign off safety study close‑out reports and related documentation.

Required profile

• Extensive background in safety studies and loss‑prevention for offshore gas compression projects.
• Proven experience leading EPC projects in a technical safety capacity.
• Strong conceptual and innovative thinking to solve complex HSE challenges.
• Ability to work within functional policies, industry guidelines and project specifications.
