Senior Principal Instrument & Controls Engineer

About the role

The Senior Principal Instrument & Controls Engineer will lead the development of instrumentation and control solutions for large‑scale projects in Abu Dhabi. This senior specialist is responsible for solving complex technical challenges, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring designs meet project specifications, standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed analyses and design in accordance with project specifications, design codes and standards.
• Lead a large Instrumentation & Controls engineering team, directing discipline execution, schedule, budget and resource allocation.
• Develop innovative, reliable and cost‑effective solutions for instrumentation and control challenges.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, procurement and project management to produce clash‑free designs and ensure seamless integration.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, vendor submittals, design reports and safety logic (ESD, F&G) and support audits and quality reviews.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in instrumentation and controls engineering on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Proven ability to lead large engineering teams and manage project resources and schedules.
• Strong communication skills to present complex technical concepts to clients, auditors and internal stakeholders.
