Senior Process Engineer – STP & Infrastructure

About the role

The Senior Process Engineer will join AECOM’s construction supervision team in Dubai, focusing on the process, testing and commissioning of major sewage treatment plant (STP), pumping station and wastewater infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Resident Engineer and Project Manager, the role ensures that mechanical, electrical and ICA systems are delivered to design and authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise process and commissioning activities for STPs, pumping stations and related infrastructure.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of SCADA, PLCs, control panels, field instrumentation and telemetry systems.
• Verify functional and performance testing, and manage plant start‑up and hand‑over.
• Review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, commissioning plans, method statements, ITPs, O&M manuals and FAT/SAT reports.
• Coordinate and witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for key equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, DEWA and other local authority standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in process and commissioning of wastewater treatment facilities.
• Ability to work under supervision of senior project staff and coordinate with contractors.
• Strong understanding of local authority regulations for process, electrical and ICA systems.
