Senior Product Owner - Payments

About the role

A platform serving millions of customers across the GCC and expanding into new markets is looking for a payments product leader in Dubai. The role owns the payments backlog end to end: cards, wallets, BNPL, COD, local payment methods, gateways and partners. Every improvement shipped shows up immediately in conversion, revenue and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the payments roadmap, deciding what gets built across payment methods, gateways and BNPL and driving it from problem definition to release.
• Improve conversion at checkout by finding where payments fail or customers drop off and fixing it with engineering and partners.
• Work with PSPs, acquirers, gateways and BNPL providers on integrations, incidents and performance.
• Launch and optimise payment methods across GCC markets, including Mada, wallets and BNPL, handling local currencies, authentication and regulation.
• Use SQL, dashboards and partner reporting to find root causes and back decisions with evidence.
• Own requirements, UAT and release readiness so changes go live reliably.

Required profile

• 4+ years in product management or product ownership, with 2+ years hands-on in payments, fintech or e-commerce checkout.
• Real experience with payment gateways, PSPs, acquirers or BNPL providers.
• Strong grasp of GCC payments: cards, 3DS2, Mada, wallets and BNPL across multiple markets and currencies.
• Fluency in payment metrics such as PSR, authorisation rates, declines and retries, with the confidence to pull the data yourself in SQL.
• Solid fundamentals in card flows, authentication, settlement and PCI-DSS.
• A bias for action: breaking down messy problems, cutting through dependencies and keeping things moving.
