Senior Product Quality Engineer

About the role

The Senior Product Quality Engineer is responsible for product approval authority of supplier‑manufactured parts across Powertech propulsion programs, including turbofan, micro‑jet and piston engines. The role ensures that supplier quality plans, production part approvals and first‑article inspections meet aerospace standards and coordinates configuration and change management between design, supply chain and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve supplier APQP submissions (process flow diagrams, PFMEA, control plans, measurement systems analysis) in line with AS9145.
• Validate and sign off PPAP packages before serial production.
• Assess first‑article inspection reports per AS9102, including ballooned drawings and measured results.
• Determine full or partial FAI requirements arising from design, process, material, tooling, location or sub‑tier changes.
• Maintain approval gates and ensure evidence is sufficient before release.
• Coordinate configuration and change management across Design Engineering, Supply Chain and suppliers.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Product Quality Engineers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in aerospace or defence product quality engineering.
• Strong knowledge of AS9145, AS9102, APQP, PPAP and FAI processes.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage supplier relationships.
• Senior‑level expertise with a focus on technical leadership.
