Senior Project Finance Manager – Tech Projects

About the role

The Senior Project Finance Manager oversees governance and financial reporting for bank‑wide technology initiatives at Mashreq. Working closely with the Head of Tech and the Transformation Office, the role ensures accurate budgeting, risk mitigation, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Drive financial reporting for all technology projects across the bank in alignment with the Transformation Office.
• Critically evaluate executive summaries and CapEx proposals to capture all required elements.
• Maintain project documentation and approvals in the central repository.
• Create and monitor project budgets in Oracle, assigning approved funds and tracking expenditures.
• Provide timely financial dashboards and reports to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, CAD, and the Transformation Office for timely asset capitalization and fixed‑asset recording.
• Alert management to cost overruns, under‑utilisation, or budget deviations.
• Validate correct chargeability, item codes, and GL entries in Oracle procurement.
• Ensure proper project closure in systems and coordinate with CPD on unused purchase orders.
• Support annual CapEx planning with technology and business leads.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Finance/Accounting, CA qualification, or MBA with a finance focus.
• 5–8 years of experience in banking, managing financial aspects of multiple technology projects.
• Strong knowledge of internal policies, regulatory compliance, and asset capitalization procedures.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and drive governance processes.
