Senior Python Engineer (Backend and Data)

About the role
GSSTech Group is looking for a Senior Python Engineer to design, build and operate scalable backend systems that power data‑driven applications. You will create high‑performance APIs, microservices and data pipelines while ensuring security, reliability and maintainability.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask and Django.
- Build asynchronous, high‑concurrency services with asyncio and optimise I/O performance.
- Implement API security with OAuth 2.0, JWT and API gateways.
- Create data access layers using SQLAlchemy or Django ORM and optimise relational and NoSQL databases.
- Design, develop and maintain ETL pipelines, working with Spark, Kafka and Hadoop for data transformation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and write unit/integration tests.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
- 5+ years of professional Python backend development experience.
- Proven experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django and asynchronous programming.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API security.
- Hands‑on experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra) databases.
- Experience building ETL pipelines and working with big‑data technologies.
