Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

The Senior Automation Engineer leads test automation, engineering and DevOps practices across Group IT at First Abu Dhabi Bank. The role involves defining, designing, and enhancing enterprise‑grade test automation frameworks, building CI/CD pipelines, and evaluating new automation tools for proof‑of‑concept deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable test automation frameworks with AI‑driven capabilities such as intelligent test generation and failure analysis.
• Develop and embed best practices in Test Automation, DevOps, and CI/CD, integrating automated testing, RPA workflows, and AI‑assisted validation.
• Lead the adoption of RPA and AI components (UiPath, Document Understanding, OCR, ML models) to create intelligent process and test automation solutions.
• Evaluate, pilot, and govern new automation tools, ensuring responsible AI usage and measurable cost efficiencies.
• Provide technical guidance and support to test automation teams across Group IT, including proof‑of‑concepts for emerging technologies.

Required profile

• 14+ years of experience in Test Automation, Functional Testing and DevOps, with a strong background in banking, operations or payment systems.
• Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise‑level automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines on Kubernetes using Helm charts.
• Experience coordinating offshore/onshore teams and multiple vendors in large‑scale projects.
• Strong decision‑making and risk‑mitigation skills in complex, mission‑critical initiatives.
