Senior QA/QC Engineer - Mechanical, E&I, Civil (Offshore)

About the role

Penspen is urgently seeking a Senior Engineer - QA/QC covering mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (E&I) and civil works for an offshore project managed by a PMC in the UAE. The role sits in Abu Dhabi and focuses on quality control across the construction and commissioning phases.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works comply with project specifications, codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO).
• Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct site inspections of piping, equipment installation, welding and mechanical completion, and monitor construction activities against quality requirements.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams on quality matters.
• Witness and verify testing activities such as hydrotests and pneumatic tests, and perform and witness inspections, FAT/SAT, calibration, loop checks and pre-commissioning.
• Monitor contractor and vendor quality performance, including vendor inspections and subcontractor compliance.
• Manage quality documentation, inspection records and final handover dossiers, working with construction and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Instrumentation or Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 to 18+ years of mechanical QA/QC experience in offshore Oil & Gas.
• Minimum 5 to 10+ years of experience on offshore projects is mandatory.
• Proven track record in PMC or client-side roles, especially within ADNOC or similar environments; previous ADNOC project experience in a similar role is an added advantage.
