Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

IFM, a research institute focused on foundation models, is hiring a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures the reliability, safety and performance of AI-driven products and software platforms, combining software testing methodology with the specific challenges of AI systems such as model evaluation, fairness, robustness and multi-modal feature testing. Arabic language proficiency is preferred.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement test plans and test cases for AI-powered applications, APIs and platform features.
• Develop automated testing frameworks for AI models, data pipelines and software, mainly in Python.
• Evaluate AI model outputs for correctness, fairness, robustness and consistency.
• Work with researchers, data scientists and engineers to define testing metrics and acceptance criteria.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing and end-to-end testing across distributed systems, APIs, databases, web apps and inference pipelines.
• Implement performance testing for AI inference and software systems.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and track, analyse and report defects and quality metrics.
• Contribute to internal quality standards, best practices and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI or a related field; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Extensive experience in software QA, test automation and validation of complex systems.
• Understanding of AI/ML model testing challenges such as non-deterministic outputs, dataset biases and evaluation metrics.
• Experience testing distributed systems, RESTful APIs, cloud-native apps and microservices.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Python and test automation frameworks such as PyTest.
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Preferred: experience testing LLMs, computer vision and multi-modal models, and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch or Hugging Face.
• Preferred: familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker and Kubernetes, and data quality assurance.
